Identification of new Corona variants

Identification of new Corona variants

  • Identification of known variants in 48 h
  • Exclusion of the British variant in 3 h

The mutations of the SARS-Cov-2 virus from Great Britain, Brazil and South Africa show an increased risk of infection.
We therefore now offer rapid detection of SARS-CoV-2 variants.

1) Selection of Covid-19 positive samples for variant B.1.1.7 (United Kingdom) by qPCR. This test specifically detects a particular mutation. This allows the mutant and the previous form to be clearly distinguished. Results are available as early as 3 hours after receipt of the samples.

2) Identificationof SARS-CoV-2 variants by sequencing, which detects 4 mutations of variant B.1.1.7, including the important mutation N501Y. This makes it possible to distinguish between the different mutations (types from Great Britain, Brazil, South Africa, etc.). The result is available within 48 hours after receipt of the samples.
